First day of vacation

I held out hope that Friday morning would be bright and sunny and we'd be on our way to Yosemite. No such luck.

Rain, rain, rain.

So yesterday I took down the Christmas tree,

cleaned up the apartment, knitted a hat
and ventured out into the rain for a small hike.

At first I thought Brian was going crazy when he suggested we go for a hike.
Hiking involves walking, which he does not like to do, AND it was raining. But he was serious. So we dressed in layers, grabbed two umbrellas and went to hike along the Stevens Creek Resevoir.

It was a little cold, and wet, but not so bad walking along the trail. The creeks were full, and tree branches were down.
At one point I was looking over a fence down at the creek below when a small part of the ledge gave way and crashed down! Yikes! I stayed away from cliffs for the rest of our walk. More rain for today. I might try my hand at knitting a pair of socks. If this weather continues, I'll have a brand new wardrobe.

Wes and I went for a hike in the rain on Sat. At Stevens Creek Reservoir! It was great fun :) We pretended we were back in Oregon for the day.
