Tahoe Gunmount Loop

Wednesday morning I decided we would go to Kingsbury Grade to South Camp Peak Out and Back. The "Mountain Biking Lake Tahoe" book said this was a beautiful trail; views of Lake Tahoe, trails through pine forests, a magnificent sweeping view of the Tahoe Basin. Brian said there would be 6 miles of climbing.

We went to Gunmount Loop instead.

Boulders at the beginning of the trail to climb, not to ride.

Gunmount Loop started out fun, a winding trail through the pines. There were lots of piles of wood stacked along the trails. I'm not sure why.

A creek through the woods. After the creek the ride started to get hot and kind of long.

Meditation pond turned out to be green and kind of gross. Probably should have turned around then, but the trail was called Gunmount Loop so it seemed like we should make it to the Gunmount.

End of the trail was huge rock cliffs...

and the highway. But no gunmount.
Boulders at the end of the trail are also for pictures.

Wednesday night is Tahoe BMX
