Now I ask you, do you know the difference between a girl kayaking and a boy kayaking?
When a girl is out in the water in a kayak and sees the rocks she says "oh how pretty."
When a boy is out on the water in a kayak and sees the rocks he thinks...
"I wonder how close we can get? Warp Speed AHEAD!!!"
It's no wonder I'm not looking too happy. Was I the only one who saw the Titanic? Rocks and boats do not mix.
After I convinced Brian to stay in the boat "No, you REALLY do not need to climb out of the kayak onto that big rock" things went a little bit smoother.
I'm wearing my tri shorts and my bike shorts over them. Classy.
We spent about an hour kayaking. The weather was great; warm, but there was a cool breeze off the lake and the water of course was freezing. There weren't any fish, but there were a couple of birds and of course, the rocks.
After we returned the kayak, Brian wanted to go swimming. I thought this was a little strange because he hates to swim as much as he hates to walk places. Then I saw his idea of swimming.
Later that night we went up highway 50 to see the stars. There was no light pollution that far from the city, and once we turned the car headlights off it was completley black. That was a little unnerving, but oh my gosh-the stars. The sky was white with stars. It truly was the most beautiful sight I've ever seen. I saw two shooting stars, it was just awesome.
Interestingly enough, one really can't take pictures of the stars with a digital camera. But at least you can see how dark it really was.
