Mountain Biking Adventure #3

Ed R Levin County Park

I found a trail out in the hills yesterday.

It wasn't a very good trail; bumpy, rutted and barely rideable.

But it took me somewhere I won't forget.

This is a picture of that place. It's like posting a shadow of what it was really like. I'll tell you about this place and it will sound silly, and weird. And when I'm done saying it, it still won't be what I mean.

Have you ever been to a place that was so strong, you were overwhelmed, but in a good way? A place that made you homesick for something, but you weren't quite sure what it was? In this place (and maybe for just that moment), the hills seemed more gold than just gold, and the sky was more blue than just blue, and the quiet was filled up with rustling grass and the occasional hawks cry. It was so beautful. Almost too much to take in. And I felt very, very small, and a little afraid, but at the same time filled with joy.

I wasn't all alone out there.

And I was left with a little mystery. What is this thing?
