Got to Corral Trail early afternoon, and headed up the road to the trailhead. The ride up the road to the Corral trailhead is usually a long, hot drawn out affair...lots of pedaling and lots of uphill and lots of mosquitoes. In previous years it was the worst part of riding at Tahoe, but this time we found something different. Snow!
Some of it was ridable, some of it was not. But it was all fun!
Still fun...
More snow.
Not quite so much fun anymore.
We hiked over snow, through the snow, over fallen tree branches, under fallen tree branches...we did everything except ride. Eventually we came to the place where corral trail intersects with the trail we were on. It looked clear, and free of snow so we decide to push up as far as we can and see what is ridable. So up we go and end up starting all over again from the beginning, but this time it's much better. No snow, just lots of fun riding around the berms, and over the rocks, and little dips. The dirt was packed so we could go fast and I had a huge grin on my face by the time we got to the bottom. I don't think I could ever get tired of riding that trail.
I leave you with a few other images of Tahoe.
There is something disturbing about having a vicious bear eating a fish as part of your decor. Now all we need is a hunter with a gun as a letter holder to finish the look.
