What a weird morning

Do you ever have those morning when things are just a little weird? It started with the ducks roosting in the gutter of the clubhouse. So odd to see four ducks on a roof.
Then there was the guy standing on the sidewalk with a parrot on his shoulder by my car. Avast there, matey.

Then while I was driving to work, I saw a guy walking his dog on his bike. Or is that riding his dog? Or riding while his dog was walking? Well, anyway, the dog stopped, squatted and pooped in the bike lane. Eew. That's a little more gross then weird. Then a second later I turned the corner to the library and there was a duck standing in the middle of the road pooping.

"Odd" said Mabel. "Very odd."

Yesterday. Yesterday was such a grumpy day. I messed up the hat I was knitting and right when I realized that I cannot read patterns and was knitting the exact opposite of what I was suppose to be knitting, a " well meaning" person came along and offered "well meaning" advice. The kind of advice where you should be grateful but you really just want to make a face and poke them with your knitting needles. Bleh. I ended up "un"knitting the whole thing last night. I'll start again this weekend. Work was...well, eight hours of peoplepeoplepeoplepeople. Sigh.

But after work was ride #2, Fremont Older.
My ride:
Climb, climb, climb, switchback, climb, switchback, climb, corner, climb, climbclimbclimb...stop, gasp, deep breath, deeeep breath...climb, climb, climb, climb....climb...climb...climb....whew! Scenery, look around, try and find the library, drink some water, then...whoosh, wheeee, down hill, round the corner, then aaaall the waaaaay down the big hill wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Whoop, going up, wheee going down, down, down, then climb. Sigh. Climb, climb, switchback, climb, another switchback...damn, missed it...climb, climb, climb. Oooh, singletrack. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, brake, brake, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, brake, switchback, switchback wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and....climb. Bummer. La, la, la climbing, climbing, climbing. La, la, la climb to the top aaaand...15 minutes left, where to go? More climbing (of course), down a path I didn't know, oooh the moon! Lovely. City lights coming on, more downhill, wheeee, swoop, swoop, swoop, ahhh, sunset. Gorgeous. It's all downhill from here. Wheeeeee all the way back to the parking lot arriving just as it was getting dark.

5.85 miles
total: 9.67 miles
