Sick day

Sick days should not fall on your day off. If I'm going to be sick and waste the first beautiful sunny day we've had in awhile, then I want to be paid for it.

Lately there have been some complaints that I've been knitting more than I've been biking. That is not true. I just haven't been biking anywhere exciting. Sitting on the trainer riding while I read a book or watch the Biggest Loser is not exciting to anyone but me. And it's not even that exciting to me. But since I don't want to hear anymore complaints about how all I do is knit, knit, knit (which might be knit picking if you think about it. heh. Knitpicking. That's funny.) I will devote this blog to biking.

This is my road bike. It's hooked up to a trainer at the moment so I can "ride" when the weather is bad or it's too dark out. Please pay no attention to my hand holding the handlebars, or the very cute fingerless glove that I knitted this past weekend. Give no note to the cheerful, orange flower that I added to the glove or the fact that the thumb is blue.

This is the view from my trainer. This is exactly what I see when I sit on my bike and pedal. (Did I mention the flowers? They're so orange! And the blue thumb? Too cute.)

If I get thirsty while I ride my trainer, I might have a bottle of water or two in my water bottle cage. All very bike related.

Sometimes I don't ride my trainer. Sometimes Brian and I go for a mountain bike ride. But it's been too rainy and muddy for that lately. (I'm thinking of making a matching hat, but I'm not sure if it should be white with orange flowers? Or maybe blue? Or maybe stripy with all three colors?)

So for right now, it's been a lot of pedalling on the trainer. (My new hat I just finished. The pattern was my own, and I'm pretty proud that I figured out the right gauge and when to decrease so it actually turned out hat shaped, and not amorphous.)

(I had to look up amorphous to make sure I used it correctly. I should have said blob. Whatever. At least it looks like a hat.)

Friday night if I feel better Brian and I might go to the bmx track and ride. It's been awhile since I've been on the cruiser. (I'm thinking definitely white hat with orange flowers.)

So that's it. That's all of the biking I've done lately. I'll let you know what else comes up.
