See my husband doesn't bike. He doesn't really get bikes, and he's okay with that. He doesn't race cross country, or run, or do triathlon. He's mostly ground support. He's the one that helps carry the stuff, and stands at the sideline and yells out "hi, sweetie!" as I go by. Sometimes he takes pictures. Lots of times he forgets.
He likes my Wildflower tshirt though, which is what he was wearing while he was standing in the middle of Family Bicycling Center in Santa Cruz holding my purse, and waiting patiently for me while I test rode some bikes. Now that's love, I tell you.
So as we were paying for my bike, the shop guy asks my husband all friendly like "so what kind of bike do you ride?" and my husband replies "a target bike".
The guy just kind of smiles and says "well, you must be pretty tough doing triathlons on a target bike".
Looking down at his borrowed Wildflower shirt, my husband shakes his head and says, "Nope, it's hers."
"Oh, " says the shop guy, his smile faltering "so what do you do?" My husband hands over his credit card and says "I feed the habit."
The shop guy nods his head, a full grin back on his face. "That's cool, man, that's cool."

sweet, it's so great to hear about the support, makes me feel and warm and fuzzy.
so whatdidyabuy???
just a wee little bike called a Nomad. A small company named Santa Cruz makes them. *grin*
Kurt can really be generous when he wants to be. Just keep an eye on stuff around the house less he sells it on ebay to compensate for "supporting your habit." Did you swim this morning?
yeah, he was eyeing your phone and wondering how much it would go for on ebay. :)
you bought a Nomad and this is all we hear about that???
Ummm...I bought a Nomad. It's really cool. :)
Funniest story ever. I love the image of Kurt in that store!
