I changed the name of my blog. It occured to me this morning as I was running I'm not training for a triathlon at the moment. I will be again at some point, but right now I have a 1/2 marathon to run. And then a mountain bike race in January to train for. And a metric century in March that I'm doing. Suddenly my world has gotten a whole lot bigger than triathlon. So Training Wheels...
Coming up
October 14th I'm doing my first ever running race; the Palo Alto Moonlight Run. The run starts at 8:15 pm and goes through the Palo Alto Baylands levee, through the marsh lands by the light of the Harvest Moon! How fun is that? 6 miles by the light of the moon with my friends. Should be a song or something. Kurt is going to do the 3 mile run that starts at 8:45 pm. I guess we'll have to get flashlights!
Then October 24th I'm doing the Nike Womans Half Marathon in San Francisco with my friend Kate. 13.1 miles! That's going to be quite an accomplishment.
So I'm planning on doing a lot of running, and biking this month. It's funny, this morning I was thinking this time last year I was injured. I was spending my time at the Y swimming and going to physical therapy. I can't tell you all how thankful I am to be planning a full season of racing this fall.
