Training for Triathlon-end of week five

Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas to me! I did well this week. Swam laps three times this week, and biked three times. Did pilates twice, but only one weight training session. I could do one today, but somehow I don't think I'll get around to it. Today should be a rest day, although we did talk about going for a hike.

Swimming-did 2 sessions 1,000 yards (40 laps). Next week I'll try to increase by 10 or 20 more laps? I know I can do it, now it's just a mind game. My mind gets tired way before my body. Tried the "sighting" exercise-swam 8 strokes w/ eyes closed then opened to site. I'll practice that. Thought again about getting the SwiMp3-but too expensive and I need to train my mind to get it done and not get bored. What am I going to do on race day when I can't use the tunes?

Biking-two cycling classes this week, and one long ride on my bike. Can't wait until January when we start to ride with the cycling club AND/or the tri club. I hope it works out. Waiting to get my coupons so I can get new helmet, and maybe new pedals. Still struggling with being clipped in. Need to take in bike and have computer installed. Monday I'll borrow K's truck and take the bike in.

Running-Suppose to run this week on treadmill, still feeling a little nervous about reinjuring calf. PT said I'm 85% there-wondering if running will make that worse? If I run today I will need to clean out the workout room, and pull the treadmill back down.

I'm really proud of myself this week for getting to the Y and getting the training in, even though it was a Holiday week and I could have blown it off. Swimming in the morning was good-I'm going to try to keep it up. I tell myself that the race doesn't start on May 1-it starts now, and each day that I get up and get my training in is another victory for me.

Starting tomorrow I'm going to have to keep track of my nutrition. That's part of training too, I know. *making face* That'll be fun! I still want to drop about five pounds and gain some more muscle. THINK ABOUT HOW TO GET THE WEIGHT TRAINING IN!

TO DO:
set up gym schedule for next week
get computer done on bike
register for bike club
