Good swimming tonight. Despite the old guy in the way too brief speedo who insisted on sharing my lane with me. Dude. Get a new suit. PLEASE! I don't know what speedo was thinking, but they should be ashamed!
I discovered that Itsy Bitsy Spider is the perfect song to keep cadence with my swim stroke. It kept me going for 20 laps or so. I'm going to have to find another song though. A little too much "IBS" even for a childrens librarian! BINGO didn't work and neither did "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall".
65 laps tonight. 1600 feet. Almost a mile! I had to take a break towards the end, my swim goggles were giving me a headache and I had to readjust them. I heard that you are suppose to wear the straps underneath your swim cap so when you are racing, no one can knock them off. It's a little uncomfortable though. Also, my swim goggles leave imprints on my face afterwards. Very attractive. :P
Tomorrow I bike. PT said NO BIKE SHOES until I heal. So I'm going to have to see about those toeclips on Friday. ESPECIALLY if I'm riding on Saturday or Sunday like planned. Got a cool bike jacket (is it bad to like the fashion more than the bike?) too. I'm ready to do some serious riding-20+ miles
I Tri because...
it's so unexpected. "You're a childrens librarian AND a triathlete? WOW." I love being out of the box.
