Hi friends

Hi all !
It's been awhile, lots of catching up to do. Still working on the prayer "haven't got a prayer" shawl I started a few weeks ago. I take it to work and bring it out at lunch to knit up a few rows. I'm not liking the pattern so much now. The yarn is yummy, and is coming up with a subtle and pleasing blue, green striping affect; imagine looking out over the ocean and watching it change color, but overall I feel just kind of "meh" about the whole thing.

I wasted spent the past couple weekends knitting, unraveling, cursing reknitting, unraveling again throwing my project needles and all against the wall and screaming in frustration, then starting over and finally ending up with a lace beanie out of cotton. I'm very please with it, and have been wearing it every chance I get.

I've been collecting patterns (there are a few hats that are calling to me), but I think that March is for socks. I finally finished my experimental pink sock, and I think I can go ahead and commit to a full pair. It's getting a little warm for mittens and hats and such, but since my feet are always cold; socks it is! Whose with me?

On two wheels:
I rode my bike to work last Tuesday. Ever since I've moved closer to the library, I've been talking about riding to work. But there always seemed to be some reason why I needed the car during the day, or it was too dark( or cold or rainy) to ride home after work and so it never happened. However Tuesday morning came with sun and blue sky, a hint of spring blowing in the breeze, and no rain in sight. So I grabbed my bike and went. It changed the mood of my whole day. Funny how such a simple thing as riding a bike a mere three miles can lift your spirits. All day at work it was like I was carrying a secret with me. I felt like going around and telling people "I was suppose to be a grownup and get in my car and drive to work, but I rode my bike instead, hee!" It was like playing when you were suppose to be working. And then on the ride home there was the most delicious pink and gold sunset against the dark blue hills and it made for such a nice transistion between work and home.

And now for the last piece of silliness:
We're celebrating Dr. Seuss birthday at the library with a storytime and a craft and a whole bunch of other craziness. We will be doing the most ridiculous spectacular rendition of The Cat in the Hat readers theater complete with costumes. There will be a cat in the hat, a fish in a bowl (that would be me) a young boy and the most beloved Thing One and Thing Two.

I am in charge of costumes.

Yarn is not just for knitting.

Yarn can be a wig.

You should see the shirts!

the real question is, which of your 14 bikes did you ride to work on Tuesday? and when are you going to do it again?

nice wig!

Oh yes! Every single time I start out on my bike I feel like I'm getting away with something and find myself giggling.

How nice that your wig color matches your eyes! Sweet pic.
