Last night I had a child ask me for the book about the four bears. "Goldilocks and the THREE bears", I corrected. "No, not three!" She was quite adamant. She wanted the FOUR bear book. "I only know about the three bears" I told her, feeling very smug in my knowledge of children's literature; "Mama Bear, Papa Bear and baby bear. That's three." "No", she said, as if explaining the obvious, "Mama Bear, Papa Bear, Sister Bear and Brother Bear. The Berenstain bears."
Oh. Of course. Four bears.
I was given a box of mooncakes today. Every month I do storytime at the Whole Kids Montessori, and today they celebrate the Chinese Moon Festival. I was told that Chinese Moon Festival is like Thanksgiving where families come together for dinner, and then eat mooncakes at night under the moon. Tonight, I'm going to have a mooncake under the moon.

I'd rather deal with the 4 bears than "Where are your multicultural books which tells a STORY involving another culture thats at least 100 pages?" Yes pray tell, where is the multicultural section?
I had moon cakes yesterday too!
