Being schooled by boyscouts

Ouch.

I fell off my bike.

There was a drop in the trail right in front of me and I grabbed a handful of brakes, flipped off my bike, and landed right in a patch of poison oak.

Ouch.

I probably would have done less damage if I had just gone off the drop.

But I got back up on my feet, dusted myself off and managed to stop sniffling before the two Nathan Rennie wannabees I was riding with came back up the trail to check on me.

That trail kicked my butt. I think it's still laughing at me. Taunting me with its wicked drops and nasty off camber singletrack; so you think you want to race downhill, do you?

Just you wait, you stupid piece of real estate. Me and the nomad are going to kick your little rocky, bumpy butt into submission. I'm not done with you yet.

In the meantime...

...ouch.

This was Fremont Older?

So, who were the boy scouts?

Couldn't you land in jail for that?

Fremont Older? Mmm, no. Schools been out of session at Fremont Older for a long time now.

Pacifica; Boyscout trail. Kinda gnarly, but hella fun. Damn drops.

Oops! Thought you said you were riding Fremont Older yesterday -- end to end or something like that. Never heard of boy scout trail. Thought you were hanging with juvies.

oh, and a bruised ego.

erein said...

No, no, no; hanging with juvies would be the bmx track.

Pacifica is some tough off the back of the saddle riding. Way tougher than me. Did you ride the crack?

I'm still trying to ride all of Rocky Ridge so I haven't graduated to Pacifica yet. Drops I don't mind so much, but tire stopping rocks are my nemesis.

oh, and kick the lil buggers next time.

I couldn't make it all the way down boyscout. The first part of the trail was super fun with jumps and berms, but at the end it was totally sketchy. I'd like to go back and ride it in parts. Get one section down, then go on to the next. We'll have to go sometime. It really is fun.

Talk to me about poison oak. I think I have it in my eye. Is that possible? I think that's why my right eye is blurry.
