This week
SWIM: 3 to 4 X 750-2500 yards
BIKE: 1 X 30-60 minutes, 1 X 2 hours.
RUN: 2 to 3 X 25 to 30 minutes and 1 X 45 minute.
Rain again today so no group ride. Next week for sure. Rode downtown yesterday, 14 miles. More of a fun ride though then a continous bike ride. Stopping off for pizza in the middle of the ride probably doesn't count towards training points! Good pizza though.
Sunday: swim, run
Monday: swim, yoga
Tuesday: spin class, weights
Wednesday: run, pilates
Thursday: spin class, weights
Friday: swim
Saturday: pilates, run
And oh yeah-a day off. I guess that would be on my extra day this week? I don't know how to get in all the training I need to do and also take a rest day off during the week.
WHY DO I TRI?
I admit my doing a triathlon probably will not bring peace to the earth and goodwill to mankind. And it's not likely I'll do battle with anyone but myself. However, it is MY impossible dream, and like Don Quixote, I feel a little like I'm off to tilt at windmills.
"To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
To be better far than you are
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest, to follow that star
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To be willing to give when there's no more to give
To be willing to die so that honor and justice may live
And I know if I'll only be true to this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star"
